CustomTech SCO Mini-FAQ

Q: CustomTech is a well known supporter of Linux and Open Source, so why partner with SCO?
A: CustomTech has customers that depend on SCO software. We are committed to provide top grade support to our customers and remaining a SCO partner helps us do this.

Q: But can't SCO users just migrate to Linux?
A: We have helped customers migrate from SCO to Linux. But for some customers it is too expensive to change platforms. However, over time we expect most SCO customers will migrate to Linux when it makes sense for their specific business needs.

Q: How did CustomTech get involved with SCO?
A: CustomTech was the first company to distribute Caldera Inc's OpenLinux in Australia in 1998 and worked closely with Caldera Inc. Caldera Inc was effectively swallowed by SCO in 2001 and ultimately their Linux offerings were discontinued and legal attacks mounted against Linux.
